Born in Salinas, California, and raised in Goulds, Florida, Wilson ignited his creative journey early—winning his first poetry slam at the age of eight. Mentored by literary legends E. Lynn Harris and JL King, he boldly turned down multiple seven-figure publishing deals in favor of creative independence. This uncompromising stance has produced a prolific body of work exceeding 100 books, spanning genres as diverse as gritty street literature and spellbinding vampire fantasy, each infused with an authentic voice and transformative power.

 

Wilson’s career is studded with award-winning accomplishments and prestigious nominations. His groundbreaking works have garnered accolades such as AAMBC Book of the Year and Male Author of the Year, and he has been honored as an International Book Awards Finalist, among others. His prestigious honors include the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award in Storytelling, the Stellar Business Award for Best Publishing in Florida, a Certificate of Recognition from the New York State Senate, the JOY Baltimore "YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE 30" Award, a Black Achiever’s Award nomination, and induction into ARTist Feature Magazine's Creative 100.

A monumental milestone in his journey occurred in 2009 when he became an Official Signature Talent for Meak Productions, Inc.—the world’s first LGBTQ-exclusive Talent Agency & Production Company. As the agency’s premiere debut literary talent, he earned the title “Mr. Meak Productions 2010” and featured in a variety of influential campaigns from 2009 to 2019, culminating in his official induction into the Agency’s Hall of Fame on his 10th anniversary in 2019.
